  1. The Thing in the Mud's ending made me wonder what might have been an alternative ending to The Creature from the Black Lagoon, takes all types to make a world.

  2. The Creature is one of my favorite movies I hope they never do a remake. The Thing In The Mud reminds me of another classic comics character "The Heap".

For my money, 'The Thing In The Mud' is some kind of demented version of 'Rebel Without A Cause' with the monster as the poor, misunderstood J.D. who just can't fit in... you know, the kind all the girls dig. Seriously, he comes from the bad part of town, can't get along with the squares & the cops, commits petty larceny, and both scares & attracts the heroine. AND she's expressedly going to wait for him to get out of the big house right after the big I-really-do-love-you kiss.

  4. Thats a pretty funny and interesting analogy. I wonder if Stan Lee was involved in the script, No one is credited as writer in the GCD.
