'Black Fury' reminded me of 'Rats in the Walls', both had a family curse that was unknown to the surviving member of the family, and both featured cats as part of the plot.

I posted an adaptation of "Rat's in the Wall" here a while back from issue #21 of Creepy. This tale is A bit like Cat People too. Great art by Ken Rice.
