I'd completely forgotten about this, one of the very few examples of a Steve Hickman story.

ReplyDeleteLike Frazetta, he hit the "big time" doing paperback covers. According to Hickman's website he's done over 300 SF/Fantasy book covers. He also did a series of calendars, movie posters, and even a set of US postage stamps!
