Moon Trap

With Art By Matt Baker
And Vince Coletta Here's
Moon Trap From Issue #28
Of Space Adventures. Published
By Charlton In 1959.

  1. I always get a kick out of space stories featuring guys wearing suits, or in this case, neckties, as they fly through space.
The idea back then where a couple of fellas could jump in the ol' spacecriuser and have a day trip to the Moon or Mars and then head on back home before suppertime, the belief back then that spaceflight would be as normal as driving to the beach or to the mountains, it was a time of innocence when anything seemed within reach in a few decades time.

Sorry for the rambling post, but this was a great charming tale of when space travel was transitioning form science fiction to science fact via sputnik's launch two years before this comic came out.

  2. Yes it was so naive in a way and optimistic too. I miss those days.
