Yow! That's a pretty unpleasant situation. That he shot her, changed guns, and shot her again is one thing--and bad enough--but I find that he apparently shot her, SLAPPED her, shot her again, and then changed guns and shot her yet again all the worse. Slapping a bloody dead person... nasty! There's his confused innocence at the end, as well, and his not frothing at the mouth. And was he really a once-famous actor and she his paramour, or was that all a delusion, too? All vague & suggestive-like like many a Steve Skeates story... and nothing wrong with that at all. Great work artwork by Frank Robbins as well: a true master.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that Frank Robbins could be the most polarizing comic book artist. His work really does stand out but as many have said..I hated his work as a kid.
