Cartoonists Make Better Lovers: Wally Wood

Today’s feature comes from the pencil of one of my four great heroes of cartooning; Wally Wood. This is one of Woody’s earliest efforts, stemming from the pages of Fawcett’s TRUE SWEETHEAT SECRETS in 1950.

In those days his art could pop up in any number of genres, but Romance jobs were pretty infrequent. After the early 50’s he ceased working the genre for close to 20 years. The late 60’s saw him popping up in a few of DC’s love books and then that was it for romance. I love the guy’s stuff but his strengths never really included ‘good girl art’. Even in his porno stuff , the gals seem to look more generic than sexy.
