  1. Well, Mr. Bones finds himself as narrator and participant in two of his stories, he was quite a busy fellow.

I just recognized something about Pat Boyette's art, it is reminiscent of Fanzine art, not perfect but enjoyable nonetheless. I'm not knocking Boyette's work, it just has a style all its own, simple at times but intricate at other times.

All of the artists and writers and inkers each added something unique to Charlton Comics, something that stood out compared to other comics. Maybe it was the freedom to be creative under a forgiving editor, maybe the old outdated printer used to turn out comics gave their comics a 1940's feel to them. Whatever it was, Charlton was just something different in a good way in the realm of comics.

Thanks as always for the Charlton posts.

  2. Boyette was a filmmaker as well. Check out his B-movie Dungeon Of Horror on youtube it's a cheap and strange little B-movie.
