I've grown to appreciate Fred Himes' ghost stories. In his way he's as much of a stylist as the other guys at Charlton. He's also got a good range types from matinee idols to supporting players and even heavies. The real stand-out of the issue is the heady, atmospheric Ditko story, but it and the Himes story make good bookends.

ReplyDeleteHimes was an interesting art. I never really appreciated his work back in the 70's.
