Jerry Grandenetti created the shadowy atmosphere in this tale. Duncroft, a blend of the Dunwich Horror and Lovecraft?Nitrate deposits on the wall, a nod to Poe's tale Cask of Amontillado.the eyes of the female character were a mix of horror bordering on insanity, a rare feat to pull off. Thanks for this pre Halloween treat.
Grandenetti is now a favorite artist of mine, He was overshadowed by others in the early Warren mags but he was unique. Great script by Archie Goodwin a fantastic writer and editor.
I love how Langley accidentally fell down the stairs and unknowingly killed himself. It just makes this tale hilarious to me once he realizes this.
Nobody, but NOBODY, made comics more hallucinogenic than Jerry Grandenetti! Thanks for this!
