  1. It's interesting that the Captain Atom story reads pretty much like another fantasy/sci-fi story and yet Captain Atom does play an intrical part. It is rather bizarre that the kid is going to continue playing with his cosmic bird friend in that most stories of this kind would end with the kid committed to one world or another & not bouncing between the two, much less with implicit parental approval for doing so. And who knew Captain Atom sidekick Gunner had a wife & child? Obviously I didn't. Excellent work by Ditko, of course.

  2. I believe this was Captain Atom's 3rd appearance. He was created by Joe Gill and Steve Ditko. I always enjoyed his second incarnation in the mid 60's a bit better.
    This was a fun story though.
