I myself like these low key anthology stories. I know the comics industry had to tone things down after the witch hunt of the early fifties, but the anthologies offered afterward had a low key charm about them, dealing with mystery and science fiction instead of blood and gore.

Yes they were more interesting in many ways. I do love the EC comics because of the incredible art but these tales are more fun.
