I just read this one in Creepy two days ago. To be honest, being an animal lover, this is really messed up. Poor cat and kitten. Also, that guy wanting to go inside the iron maiden is like somebody from Jackass.
The original story is nastier - the kitten's head is crushed and its avenging mother spends the rest of the story spattered with its blood and brains. At the end, the iron virgin is opened, Hutcheson's body tumbles out and the cat is 'shore in two' as she laps the blood from his empty eye sockets!

ReplyDeleteIt's a great story I read it years ago in Creepy myself. I have never read the original short story but I'm sure this adaptation is pretty faithful.
ReplyDeleteSame here, never read the original story myself--but I'm fairly certain this one's very close to the original.

ReplyDeleteYou are correct it reads like a H. G. Lewis movie in the end of the Bram Stoker text story....
