Charlton comics post on a Tuesday, the highlight of the day!
I see on the last page Letters to the Haunted House they mention the Comics Code and the reason for it being formed. Their description of how parents in the fifties went berserk over the over the top horror and crime comics. I guess people could get just as easily triggered back then as now.
I think it was Dr. Wertham going over the top with his comic book witch hunt of the 50's. That's not to say that the horror comics of the day weren't a bit graphic sometimes but to blame comic books for the rise in juvenile delinquency was ridiculous.
